The Bell Witch Fall Festival is an annual fall event in Adams, Tennessee, celebrating the area and its colorful history. For 2015, two new lecture-type events have been added including Red River Tales: History, Folklore & Stories (free) and The Washingtons of Wessyngton (free). Returning this year is a rare video screening Spirit Tales: Bims Eden & The Bell Witch (free). Adams native David Alford, who is a regular on ABC-TV’s Nashville series, has written two musicals based on Adams history which have proven to be a hit with audiences from all over Tennessee and surrounding states. Smoke: A Ballad of the Night Riders is a musical drama telling the story of the Dark Tobacco Wars that took place in Robertson County in the late 1800s, with original music and featuring some of the best professional actors in Tennessee. Then Spirit: The Authentic Bell Witch Experience returns to spin the tale of the haunting of John Bell Sr. and his family in the 1820s in Adams. The story has become known world-wide and draws fans from as far away as Europe. All events take place on the grounds of the historic Bell School in Adams, Tennessee. Smoke and Spirit are performed in the Brooksher Outdoor Pavilion.
