In response to the issues in communities around the country, with high unemployment rates in low income areas, and feelings of hopelessness among young people in these areas, the Urban league of Middle TN would like to host a Summer of Hope Employment Tour for the months of July and August. The idea is to gather a small group of agencies, willing and able to find employment for people, young and old, living in low income neighborhoods. Some of these participants will most likely have issues with their record. Some will have no previous work experience at all. Others will need flexibility in their work schedule due to family concerns. So the idea is that by going into these communities with employment opportunities, that otherwise would not be known or available to them, the participants can start to dream of a better life. And in dreaming of a better life, strive to create it.
