Community Open House Day
Ascend Amphitheater and Riverfront Park extend an invitation to the Community Open House on Sunday August 2nd from 1-5pm. Activities will include live local music and DJs onthe Amphitheater stage fron 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and limited backstage access. Concession stands will be open to purchase food and drink.
Activities at Riverfront Park will include:
- Fitness demonstrations by Metro Parks and Recreation located on The Green
- Guided tours by docents from the Nashville Tree Foundation of The Betty Brown Tree Trail, which includes 225 individual trees that represent 43 different species.
- Container garden demonstrations by Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art at the Riverview Garden at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm.
- Educational booths from NashVitality, Metro Parks Nature Centers and Greenways for Nashville.
Those coming to the Community Open House are invited to bring their soccer balls and frisbees to enjoy the soccer-field sized green space called The Green. Metro Parks will provide basketballs so people can play on the two half- court basketball courts. Other games and features include nine custom swings, game boards for chess and checkers and an 11-station fitness circuit.
Community members are also invited to bring their dogs on leashes to ejoy the 113,000-square-foot dog park, where dogs can roam free.
Community Day also includes a school supply drive in partnership with LP Pencil Box to help make sure students have the supplies they need for this school year. Look for yellow LP PENCIL Box donation bins at park entrances. DETAILS.
