David Razowsky | The Godfather of Modern Improv Comedy

A special improv comedy show at a brand new venue!

Viewing a show that’s directed by David Razowsky is a special event, particularly when noted director David guides the evenings entertainment. His gentle, direct style of “side coaching” has proven to benefit all improvisers who’ve joined him for these “Guided Improv Scenes.” An evening’s performance where the cast of Nashville Improv will be lead through two-person scenes with David keeping you on track, showing everyone the “shiny objects,” where the scene’s heat is, where the unexpected live. All this with a live house! There’s nothing like this “open rehearsal” anywhere.

Also from March 18th – 20th David will be teaching 4 different workshops covering tons of improv skills for all actors and improvisers. Visit for more information and to sign up!

David Razowsky is one of the top teachers of theatrical improvisation and acting. He has been called “the guru of improvisation, an improviser’s improviser,” who connects the mindfulness of Buddhism with improvisation’s core principals of being in the moment, taking care of your partner, and groundedness. In his 25-year improvisation career David has worked with The Second City, iO West, The Steppenwolf Theatre Company, Dreamworks, BBC’s Whose Line Is It Anyway, and Amsterdam’s Boom Chicago Theatre. He was Artistic Director of The Second City Training Center Los Angeles, has been honored with an INNY award for Best Improv Coach, and is adjunct faculty in the California State University system. He has been a featured performer and lecturer at the Chicago Improv Festival, The San Francisco Improv Festival, the Vancouver Improv Festival, and The Kennedy Center. David continues to act and direct professionally in Los Angeles.

Nashville Improv has been entertaining audiences nationwide with their unique brand of high energy improvised comedy. They’re bringing the best of improv & theater into the 21st century, being featured on Comedy Central’s Drunk History, and past performances with Laura Hall from Whose Line is it Anyway, the Chicago Improv Festival, and regularly chosen as one of the Best Comedy Clubs in Nashville by the Tennessean.
