The Porch Writers’ Collective, Nashville’s only independent center for writing hosts its second annual fundraiser, featuring Grammy-winning musician Rodney Crowell and bestselling memoirist and songwriter Mary Karr in an unforgettable evening of story and song.
The event will kick off with a Meet & Greet reception for VIP ticket-holders with Karr and Crowell at 6:30 pm, with wine, beer, a signature cocktail, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Doors open for general admission at 8pm.
Rodney Crowell is a multi-Grammy winner, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame member, and recipient of the 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award for Songwriting from the Americana Music Association. His songs have been performed by Van Morrison, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Etta James, George Strait, Tim McGraw, and more. He’s the author of the acclaimed memoir Chinaberry Sidewalks.
Mary Karr is a bestselling memoirist, award-winning poet, songwriter, and author of The Liars’ Club, Cherry, Lit, and The Art of Memoir. She is considered one of America’s most masterful memoirists. She collaborated with Crowell on her first album, Kin (2012).
