Live on The Sutler Stage | Daphne Willis

Born in San Antonio to a classically trained vocalist, Daphne Willis began singing at a very early age, and in high school she started to play guitar. After high school, Daphne began attending DePaul University in Chicago. While attending college, Daphne found herself playing numerous open-mic nights and local Chicago performances. This eventually led to Daphne dropping out of college to focus on her music career, touring across the country, playing over two hundred shows a year. Daphne’s second album “Because I Can” debuted in 2011, and peaked at number two of the iTunes Top 40 Singer/Songwriter chart. With roots to both Chicago and San Antonio, Daphne Willis brings simultaneously a grit and a musicality to her tunes.
