Music at the Frist: Shelby Bottom String Band

Respected musician and critic Jack Silverman has described Shelby Bottom String Band as “formidable.” That’s a good beginning. Individually, the band members have informed contemporary music over several decades; together, their tight harmonies and smart lyrics recall the heyday of American folk activism.

The band has produced two popular YouTube videos: East Nashville Rag and Don’t Blow Up The Mountain.
