The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum joins Music City Roots to present a tribute to Sun Records founder/producer Sam Phillips. Paying homage to Phillips and the classic blues, country, and rock & roll music he recorded in Memphis during the 1950s will be musicians who have been influenced by his pioneering work. Billy Burnette and Shawn Camp, Sleepy LaBeef, Colin Linden, and Bobby Rush will perform songs associated with and inspired by Phillips’s career. Peter Guralnick (Phillips’s biographer) and Jerry Phillips (Phillips’s youngest son) will be interviewed briefly on stage between sets. Presented in support of the museum’s exhibition Flyin’ Saucers Rock & Roll: The Cosmic Genius of Sam Phillips. The concert takes place at Liberty Hall inside The Factory at Franklin, 230 Franklin Road, Franklin, Tennessee
