Jeff Stevens began producing and co-writing with Luke Bryan on his first album, I’ll Stay Me, in 2007, and the two have been musical collaborators ever since. In the 1980s, Stevens led a band, Jeff Stevens and the Bullets, that recorded for Atlantic America Records before breaking up in 1990. Stevens continued as a solo artist for Atlantic before transitioning into songwriting, and scoring big hits with Tracy Byrd, Tim McGraw, and George Strait. Stevens’s first significant success as a producer came when he started working with Bryan. Stevens produced and co-wrote Bryan’s first hit, “All My Friends Say,” and he has produced every Bryan album since, and co-written other hits, including the #1“Someone Else Calling You Baby.” The conversation will be illustrated with photos and videos from his career and Stevens will perform briefly. This program will be streamed live at countrymusichalloffame.org/streaming, and is offered in connection with the exhibit Luke Bryan: Dirt Road Diary presented by Citi. Following the program, Stevens will sign a commemorative Hatch Show Print poster, available for purchase in the Museum Store.
