Shelby Bottom String Band plays quirky, acoustic Americana from the “dusty back roads of East Nashville.” Jack Silverman — in a Critic’s Pick in the Nashville Scene — used the adjective “formidable” to describe the band. SBSB played the Ryman Auditorium in October 2010, as a top 10 Finalist in the Silver Stars competition (out of 150 acts that auditioned) and has appeared on “Live in Studio C” on Nashville Public Radio. Two SBSB originals, East Nashville Rag and Don’t Blow Up The Mountain, are popular videos on You Tube. SBSB has played at the Southern Festival of Books, the Tomato Art Festival, the Belle Meade Plantation Harvest Festival, as well a number of benefits and gigs for environmental and community organizations.
