Join us as we run and walk to raise funds for research, family support, and education for people affected by Huntington’s disease. The timed 5K, starting and ending at Charlie Daniels Park in Mt. Juliet, will begin at 8:30 am on Saturday, September 26. The one-mile walk, completely within Charlie Daniels Park, will begin at 9:30. There will be entertainment and drawings for prizes. Huntington’s disease is a neurological brain disorder that slowly robs its victims of the ability to talk, walk, think, and live independently. Each child of a person with Huntington’s disease has a 50-50 chance of inheriting the mutated gene that causes Huntington’s. It devastates families as it continues its march through generation after generation. In spite of that, there is tremendous hope for a cure with many discoveries in recent years that make a cure in the near future very likely. Funds rasied at this walk will help support the continuation of this promising research. The ongoing research enables families to cope better with the disease than ever before. Your registration and donations help HDSA fund education and family support to improve the lives of people affected by HD until until the cure is available.
