In this talk, the producers and director of the new documentary film The Natchez Trace: Rediscovering the Ancient Trail, will discuss the Trace from the mid-1700s to the pre-Civil War era, when it played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of our country in the ‘Old Southwest’. In addition to playing a clip from the film, they will explore the cultures and subcultures along the Trace, and the impact of the ‘Alabama Rush’ on the economy of the region. They will also discuss the significance of the DAR members who rescued the Trace and its history in the early 1900s.
