We’re closing our July exhibit, “Time Spent in Los Angeles,”curated by McLean Fahnestock, on August 8th in conjunction with East Side Art Stumble. Come by from 6:00pm to 9:00pm to see small works by these artists:
A casual study of the way an artist internalizes and processes place, this exhibition features the small works of seven artists who have been shaped by Los Angeles. Just over half of the artists are from somewhere else, transplants from the South or East Coast who found themselves settling for a time in the City of Angels. The other three are native Southern Californians who have spent a lifetime steeped in the sun and culture. All have been impacted by their individual experiences of LA as insiders and outsiders and it presents in their work through color, form, concept, and narrative.
Curated by McLean Fahnestock, a Los Angeles transplant herself who has now returned to Nashville after ten years, the exhibition will feature small works in video, painting, printmaking, ceramics, and photography.
