Veda Reed: Day into Night

To kick off the new year, David Lusk Gallery-Nashville welcomes a new selection of abstract sky paintings by Veda Reed. “Day into Night” is the artist’s first exhibition at the Nashville gallery.

In this series, octogenarian Reed studies the brief yet captivating final seconds of twilight. She hones in on a specific timeframe where the sky is dramatically transformed. Her 2012 solo exhibition in Memphis, “From Dusk Til Dawn,” concentrated on the night sky, in this group of oil paintings on canvas, “Day into Night,” the sky and clouds are in a race against time to exude one last burst of energy, colorfully splayed across the atmosphere.
