Workshop: Bound to Print!

Platetone is excited to announce artist Abigail Felber’s upcoming workshop. This class is a fun and instructional workshop teaching printmaking and bookbinding in one class!

Through use of non-toxic printmaking processes, learn how your printed imagery can tell a story in an accordion book structure. First, a basic book form will be constructed. Then an accordion page will be folded and printed on using a lithographic print process. Students will draw on Smart Plates; a simplified, and faster alternative to traditional lithography.

Time and materials will be supplied for students to design and decorate the book covers to relate to the prints inside. All techniques learned in the workshop are environmentally friendly and can be easily adapted for at-home printing.

Abigail Felber received her BFA in Printmaking from Murray State University in Murray, KY. She has since then completed her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ. She has shown her work in multiple galleries in Tucson, notably the Tucson Museum of Art Biennial 2015. Other pieces have been shown at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, Penland School of Craft, and Murray State University. While at the University of Arizona, she served as President of the Wildcat Print Association and was featured on AZ Illustrated for her efforts to continue strengthening the printmaking tradition.
