The words “wild” and “woman” are like a fairytale knock on the door of the heart. – Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter; pastor/preacher, Sherry Cothran, takes you on a journey in story and song in this interactive concert co-sponsored by The Nashville Jung Circle & Scarritt Bennett Center in celebration of Women’s History Month.
In this interactive concert, former Evinrudes frontwoman Cothran weaves together songs and stories from Bible and other Wisdom traditions where the Wild Woman Archetype is at play, revealing the Divine in the wilderness spaces of text. Cothran has written a series of songs based on the lives of what she calls the “untamed” women of the Old Testament on her last CD, “Sunland.”
On her upcoming CD release, “Kiss the Ground,” funded by the Louisville Institute and Lily Endowment, Cothran wrote original songs inspired by Wisdom texts from multiple religious traditions. Join us for this delightful, interactive concert & celebrate Women’s History Month.
