Coming every Friday and Saturday night in February! Set some time around 1920, “The Biograph Girl” is another tru-ish story from the pen of Jerry Smith.
In many circles “Florence Lawrence” is known as the first, real Movie Star.
Florence was the top grossing female actor for the Biograph film Company, and was beloved by movie goers across the nation.
In an era when studios did not release the names of their players, she became known affectionately as “The Biograph Girl.” But she wanted more. The cunning Florence figured out a remarkable way to get her name out to the public from coast to coast. A wonderful true story in itself, but just watch what happens when it is brought to life on the Smith House stage. Laughs from start to finish! Enjoy a delicious dinner beforehand.
